The Materials Joining Innovation Centre (MaJIC) solves problems in materials joining through services such as testing for certification, technical advice, training, procedure development and applied research. The products and services of MaJIC are rooted in the innovative applications of emerging materials joining technologies. MaJIC works independently and in partnership with industry, regulatory/certifying bodies, educational and research institutions, and government.

Materials joining in primarily concerned with the maintenance, repair, manufacture and development of:

Infrastructure          bridges, buildings, roads, power and energy

Transportation          air, land, water and space

Manufacturing           automotive, petro-chemical

Other                           natural resources, mining, forestry, agriculture

MaJIC is an independent not-for-profit corporation with a Board of Directors, offering a complete range of services in procedure development, code interpretation, applied research, materials characterization/testing, weld ability studies, CWB welder qualifications testing and specialized training.

MaJIC has the newest materials joining lab in Northern Ontario, and through partnership with Northern College, MaJIC has access to its world-class facilities.
